What Would Jesus Do if He Were Here Today?

As the Christians, who will be celebrating a false pagan holiday called “Christmas” on Dec. 25, we the Muslims would like to address an issue which they might want to look into and consider. As we all try to please the all-Mighty through our actions, the action of celebrating “Christs Mass” is an action that will not be accepted by the supreme Creator. We would like to address a practical approach and want the Christians to view this matter through the eyes of Jesus(pbuh) as if he were here today. Have a read at this article and truly live your lives like the way Jesus(pbuh) lived:

Both Muslims and serious Christians can learn a lot from Christmas, the annual celebration of the victory of paganism over the religion of Prophet Isa (Jesus Christ). No one disputes that the event and all its symbols came from pagan religions; it has nothing to do with the birth or teachings of Jesus Christ. For one thing, no one knows with certainty the date of birth of Jesus Christ. “In fact, dates in almost every month in the year were suggested by reputable scholars at one time or another,” notes The American Book of Days. For another, the celebration of birthdays is itself a pagan idea, never promoted by any Prophet or Book of God, including the Bible. Early Church leaders opposed it strongly. As late as 245 CE African Church father and philosopher Origen wrote that it was sinful even to contemplate observing Jesus’s birthday `as though he were a King Pharaoh.”[The American Book of Days].

But the pagan world did have prayers and celebrations during the winter season. Those who worshipped the sun god because of its apparent power, used to become concerned about the fate of their god, in a world of many gods, as days became shorter and air very cold. It looked like the sun was being defeated by the god of snow that brought death and misery with it. “… In Rome, the sun in its winter solstice was at its weakest on December 25th and had to be born anew with the help of bonfires, lights, processions and prayer.” [Reader’s Digest Book of Christmas]. The Roman pagan celebration was called Saturnalia. The Persians also had similar celebrations for Mithras, their sun god.

The evergreens, holly, ivy, and mistletoe plants, which remained green even during this wintertime, were similarly considered by the pagans to have magical powers. The Druids, whose Stonehenge temples can be seen in England, regarded mistletoe with reverence and used to burn it in sacrifice during the solstitial festivities. They also used to hang it in their houses. When you don’t know the One True God, even leaves and plants can become god. They thought it brought good luck, fertility, and protection from witchcraft, and was an antidote to poison. Mistletoe is used even today, although the U.N. might consider banning it if the fertility claim proves true!

In 1822, Dr. Clement Moore, professor of divinity, wrote a poem titled “The visit of St. Nicholas.” The poem became popular and Santa Claus was born. The reason for popularity? “… the time was ripe. A myth was needed, and the recreation of `old Christmas’ was well in the wind.”[William Sanson, A Book of Christmas]. Some decades later The New York Sun answered an 8 year old’s question: Is there a Santa Claus? The answer has become classic and is worth noting. “Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see.” So Santa Claus is divine, and judging from the Christmas celebrations, certainly more important than Jesus Christ himself.

Early church leaders wanted to Christianize the pagan festivities, but their operating principle became: When you can’t beat them, join them. For as Pope Gregory declared in 601 CE, “… from obdurate minds it is impossible to cut off everything at once.” It was a license for another pearl of “wisdom”: When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

And so they did. First slowly and then rapidly. The Son of God replaced the sun god. Saturnalia was replaced by the ceremony for Christ or Christ Mass, which later became Christmas. For several centuries it was solely a church anniversary, observed by religious services. “At Christmas, men and women were not, repeat not, to dress up or mime; there were not to be auguries, such as superstitions about fire; houses were not to be decorated, no presents given, no well-laden tables, and a strict watch was to be kept on drink.” But false religion drives out true religion. Consider Christmas gifts, a carryover from the Roman practice of giving dolls as gift in lieu of their earlier barbaric custom of offering human sacrifices. “The early Church frowned on gift giving as a pagan custom. But the people enjoyed it too much to abandon it, and so finally the Church accepted the idea and sanctioned it.” [Barbara Rinkoff, The Family Christmas Book]. Evergreens? “The early church forbade the use of them, but here again the custom was too deeply rooted and the ban was ignored. Finally the church accepted the use of evergreens for decoration.” And on and on. Now consider this portrait of Saturnalia and contrast it with the original don’ts mentioned above: “… a fortnight of near riot, of drunkenness, noise and games, naked slaves singing, men dressing up as animals and behaving with less dignity, sex, often with perversion.” [Reader’s Digest Book of Christmas]. Anyone can see which picture represents today’s Christmas more closely.
With the advent of Capitalism, the old pagans got a new supporter in the form of the adman. George Bernard Shaw observed: “Christmas is forced on a reluctant … nation by…shopkeepers and the press.” This is how they can serve God, and make money at the same time. This in itself is a pagan idea and it is alive and well today.

What would Jesus( PBUH) do today if He were here when He would see all these events that are happening around us?

The official poverty rate in 2002 was 12.1 percent, up from 11.7 percent in 2001.
In 2002, people below the official poverty thresholds numbered 34.6 million, a figure 1.7 million higher than the 32.9 million in poverty in 2001.
At 16.7 percent, the poverty rate for children did not change between 2001 and 2002, but remained higher than that of 18-to-64-year-olds and seniors aged 65 and over. However, the number of children in poverty increased to 12.1 million in 2002, up from 11.7 million in 2001.
For people 18 to 64 years old, both the number in poverty and the poverty rate rose from 2001 to 2002 — from 17.8 million to 18.9 million, and from 10.1 percent to 10.6 percent, respectively.
Similarly, the number of elderly in poverty increased from 3.4 million in 2001 to 3.6 million in 2002, though their poverty rate remained unchanged at 10.4 percent.
– The poverty rates in 2002 for non-Hispanic Whites (8.0 percent
for those who identified with no other race groups) and Asians(10.0 percent to 10.3 percent, depending on the race definition) were not different from the rates for the closest groups available in 2001.
– Among people who reported Black in 2002, 23.9 percent to 24.1 percent were in poverty, depending on the race definition. Both figures were higher than the 22.7 percent for those who reported Black in 2001. http://www.census.gov/prod/2003pubs/p60-222.pdf

Wasted food in America: According to a 1997 study by US Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service (ERS) entitled “Estimating and Addressing America’s Food Losses”, about 96 billion pounds of food, or more than a quarter of the 356 billion pounds of edible food available for human consumption in the United States, was lost to human use by food retailers, consumers, and foodservice establishments in 1995.
Fresh fruits and vegetables, fluid milk, grain products, and sweeteners (mostly sugar and high-fructose corn syrup) accounted for two-thirds of the losses. 16 billion pounds of milk and 14 billion pounds of grain products are also included in this loss.

Problem with regards to Health in the U.S. is VIOLENCE.
According to a 1996 summary of reported rapes, 1.3 rapes occur per
minute in the U.S., which is 683,000 a year. Since only 16% of all rapes are reported to Law Enforcement, the actual number of rapes per year would be about 4.3 million.
The average age of a rape victim in Utah is between 14 and 22. The U.S. average is between 17 and 24.2,3
Utah is now the 14th highest state for rape crime. Utah has more rapes per capita than California, New York, and Washington.
86-90% of rapes in Utah county are acquaintance rapes.
In the home, fathers and step-fathers are the perpetrators.
Out of the home, friends are the perpetrators.

Alcohol contributes to 100,000 deaths annually, making it the third leading cause of preventable mortality in the United States after tobacco and diet/activity patterns.
More than seven percent of the population ages 18 years and older — nearly 13.8 million Americans — have problems with drinking, including 8.1 million people who are alcoholic.
Almost three times as many men (9.8 million) as women (3.9 million) are problem drinkers, and prevalence is highest for both sexes in the 18-to-29 age group.
About 43% of U.S. adults — 76 million people — have been exposed to alcoholism in the family — they grew up with or married an alcoholic or a problem drinker or had a blood relative who was an alcoholic or problem drinker.
62% of high school seniors report that they have been drunk; 31% say they have had five or more drinks in a row during the last two weeks.
People who begin drinking before age 15 are four times more likely to develop alcoholism than those who begin at age 21.
3.1 million Americans — approximately 1.4% of the population 12 and older — received treatment for alcoholism and alcohol-related problems in 1997; treatment peaked among people 26-34.
Studies of suicide victims in the general population show that about 20% are alcoholic.

4. Catholic Pedophile Priests:

The Effect on U.S. Society
By Tom Economus
Current estimates of Roman Catholic priests in the U.S.= 49,000 to 50,000
Estimates of pedophile priests = 3,000 (6.1%) to 8,000 (16.3%)
188 Dioceses in the U.S. Divide 3,000 by 188 = 16 perpetrators per diocese
Divide 8,000 by 188 = 42 perpetrators per diocese
Current experts claim a pedophile could abuse 200-265 children in a lifetime.
200 x 16 perps/diocese = 3,200 victims/diocese
200 x 42 perps/diocese = 8,400 victims/diocese
3,200 victims/diocese x 188 dioceses = 601,600 victims in U.S.
8,400 victims/diocese x 188 dioceses = 1,579,200 victims in U.S.
Average American family consists of 4-6 people
(3,200 victims/diocese) 601,600 victims x 4 family members = 2,406,400 indirect victims
60l,000 victims x 6 family members = 3,609,600 indirect victims
(8,400 victims/diocese) 1,579,200 x 4 family members = 6,316,800 indirect victims
1,579,200 x 6 family members = 9,475,200 indirect victims
These numbers are a reflection of immediate family only and do not reflect the indirect victims within the parishes that are affected.
188 Bishops are responsible for the pain of at least 601,600 direct victims and as many as 9,475,200 indirect victims — a total of as many as 10,076,800 people. Clearly, something is wrong.

Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortionists will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

The profane concept of secularism has given birth to a monster called capitalism together with its ugly features of freedom, democracy, liberalism and of course, exploitation of human beings. These problems arise precisely as a result of mankind abandoning the Islamic way of life and using his own mind to decide how to run his affairs. If indeed, the mind was capable of producing the same organization as we see in the universe, why is the ‘human’ world such a mess?

Muslims respect and revere Jesus. They consider him one of the greatest of God’s prophets and messengers to humankind. A Muslim never refers to him simply as “Jesus”, but always adds the phrase “upon him be peace.” The Qur’an confirms his virgin birth, and an entire surah (chapter) of the Qur’an is entitled “Mary.” The Qur’an describes the Annunciation as follows: “‘Behold (O Mary!)’ The Angel said, ‘God has chosen you, and purified you, and chosen you above the women of all nations. O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him, whose name shall be the Anointed (Masih or Messiah), Jesus son of Mary, honored in this world and in the hereafter, and one of those brought near to God. He shall speak to the people from his cradle and in maturity, and shall be of the righteous.’ “She said: ‘O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me?’ He said: ‘Even so; God creates what He wills. When He decrees a thing, He says to it, “Be!” and it is.‘” (Qur’an 3:42-7)
Jesus was born miraculously through the same power that had brought Adam into being without a father: “Truly the likeness of Jesus with God is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust and then said to him, ‘Be!’ and he was.” (Qur’an 3:59)

If you are a Christian, then we invite you to look into with OPEN mind. Islam, the one true Ideology of Abraham(P), Moses(P), Jesus(P), and Muhammad(P), by bearing witness that there is none worthy of worship but God and that Muhammad(P) is the messenger of God. In doing so, you will have taken the path of true guidance and submission to God. All human beings are born into a state of submission to the Will of God, that is to say, you were born a Muslim.
Islam is the ultimate truth and final blueprint for life (Deen), sent down by Allah (swt) to Muhammad (saw) the last and final messenger for the whole mankind. Thus, the only way of life ordained for humanity by the creator of the universe is Islam.

Allah (swt) says: “If anyone desires a DEEN(way of Life) other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him, and in the hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost.” [EMQ 3:85]. “Oh you who believe, fear God as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.” [EMQ 3:102]

However, those of whom do not want to be manipulated, learn about Islam. The government has attained the ability to control you and the masses by creating ISLAMOPHOBIA and it is time to break free from the yolk of this manipulation and learn about the truth, and the only truth that exists is the truth that is with Allah (The Creator of the Worlds). That truth is none other than Islam. It is time for this society to become a population of thinkers and not blind followers. It is time to find out about Islam. It is time to find out about the truth by using your own Mind. Don’t be fool by the media propaganda.

Please visit any Mosque around you, feel free to ask questions regarding Islam as the alternative to this mess that we are going through or Email us.

We invite you to Islam.
Remember there is NO Life or Dignity without Islam
A time for Thought.
A time for Change.
A time for Action.

We must bring change through an intellectual and a political struggle.
